Why am I a residential waterproofing expert? Because I had to be. Like most other entrepreneurial enterprises, this company began with a search for a solution to a problem.
After returning home from the U. S. Air Force where I worked on Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, I took a job working for W. R. Grace, and earned a minor in cement and concrete. I worked on parking garages and hospitals, all kinds of great jobs. At that time I rented an older home with a basement, and it was wet. I lost all my art work and I was angry.
I started making calls to have it repaired and quickly saw foundation companies fell into two categories. Either they were too small and lacked the necessary experience and business infrastructure to do a job safely and correctly. Or they were too big and had complete disregard for their customers. They expected them just to follow along quietly and write the check when the job was complete. I’m not a good follower.
Not long after, I met my business partner and Waterproof Solutions was born. We started with a philosophy that immediately set us apart from the rest of the industry. We looked at each project as a customer, not just a job. And we used every single challenge as an opportunity to learn more and get better. When we were wrong, we made it right. When we weren’t sure how to approach a particular situation, we consulted with engineers. We read and we studied and got better. Soon other companies began bringing their questions to us.
Today, with more than 20 years in the business, our customers enjoy the benefit of all that experience, education and self-regulation. Our commitment to excellence allowed us to complete the largest carbon fiber job in Missouri history. In an industry that is not policed, we bring those same high standards to your doorstep. The attitudes, philosophy, and expertise that made us industry leaders, is still our “foundation” today.
