Interior Draintile: The system’s function is to filter static ground water, collect at submersible pump, and discharge away from foundation. This relieves hydrostatic pressure which can affect the foundation and floor. Geo-Textile Fabric will be installed into the open trench to provide a defense from small debris and silts. A 4” inch ADS perforated drain is laid in the open trench, surrounded by Meramec River Rock. It is important River Rock be used in lieu of crushed/clean rock. This eliminates minus from rock which can cause a breach to system. The installed system will be covered with a vapor barrier to provide protection for the new system. The system will be finished by replacing concrete to cover and encapsulate new system. Install new discharge piping through existing wall by drilling an opening in the concrete to enable proper connection and installation of the discharge system from the sump pump to custom drywell pump system, daylight, or storm sewer, where permitted. Cove plate is installed when there is a potential of leaking from existing or new wall cracks. This will allow water into the new system from above, if necessary.
