Today, Stephen with Waterproof Solutions is standing outside an older home known as a row house. The home has a leaking parapet, but the homeowner has been told that it is going to cost several thousand dollars to repair it. Stephen is explaining why this repair does not necessitate major deconstruction and reconstruction of the face of the building.
Transcript:
This is a really cool little house. It's oddly shaped, which is neat about it. The first thing that I noticed about it; it wasn't a good idea to put the two together. These are independent buildings. Let them move independently. And you can see over time, you see this little welling that's happened in the center here?
The parapet walls will start to have issues. That's what you see. See that water dripping down right there? That is an issue for me to want to... I would want to be looking at:
Why do I have a problem right there where my well is.
So, what happens is, is we don't want this filling up or getting pulled out anymore. And the only thing that could do that would be water. So, fixing it at the top solves this blemish that it has, this fold here. So, the fact that someone has come and told them that first they were going to take the whole wall down for nine grand, then another guy was going to be 16 grand, and then another guy was---so much.
This poor guy that's filming me right now, who is almost family to me--
*Jack waves*
--has now been told the reality.
That's why this is happening. Let's get on with that. That will stop this from happening. The wall does not have to come down and go back up.
Treating people like customers instead of clients. The biggest problem we have in this industry right now. All right, my rant's Thanks, everybody.
